CHARLOTTE DANILSON FRAMEWORK

Teaching is an incredibly multifaceted profession. It requires teachers to maintain core skills to help learners succeed throughout their academic careers. While the teaching role is difficult and demanding from day to day, it is vital for teachers to stay abreast of teaching techniques and continue to enhance their skills through ongoing professional development. To support teachers, every school and district should offer ongoing mentorship programs, teaching assistance and performance feedback to ensure teachers are meeting the needs of their learners. One useful tool that helps is to make this possible is The Danielson Framework , which serves as a guide for coaching and mentoring. It is a philosophical approach to understand and promote great teaching and learning. This framework puts teacher growth at the heart of the program and ties the four domains and twenty-two components of the Danielson Framework directly to that growth. A college-wide systematic approach to classroom walkthroughs enables teachers and administrators to work together to ensure the development and maintenance of the best practices in teaching.
The overview of the framework is posted below:

CHARLOTTE DANILSON FRAMEWORK FOR REMOTE TEACHING

In our pursuit of providing excellent education, we are consistently guided by our foundational beliefs about learning and our values as educators, which are reflected in this Framework for Teaching developed by Charlotte Danielson. This school year has been like no other before it, and we hope like no other after it. Having recently managed the greatest and most ubiquitous crisis our education systems have confronted in our lifetime, YOU have faced incredible uncertainty and rapidly evolving and changing understandings of your lives and work throughout 2020- 21 school year. Therefore, we believe that you are the best one to evaluate yourself through this REMOTE learning observation tool. Take your time to do this self-assessment and add an evidence for each component. Now is not the time to be thinking about how to evaluate your performance, this moment compels us to pause and engage in a thoughtful reset on our approaches in order to support you as educators.
